About Indooroopilly Dance Co.
OUR Mission & Teaching PHILOSOPHY
“To encourage and inspire students to be the best they can be through the art of dance. When you believe in yourself, anything is possible”
Through the experiences at Indooroopilly Dance Co., we aim to provide people of all ages and all abilities with the opportunity to express themselves through movement and dance.
We have created an environment and community where everybody is welcome and encouraged to join us no matter their dancing background or experience.
We are all about movement, building confidence, fun and friendships and want each student to take away something special by dancing with us.
At Indooroopilly Dance Co., we aim to empower students through dance and movement, create an opportunity to develop lifelong friendships, inspire each other and most importantly Dance our hearts out!

Inspire and empower students to believe in themselves, gain confidence, strength and develop an “anything is possible” attitude.
Create an environment where lifelong friendships are made, where we all encourage one another and understand the values of teamwork.
We are a close-knit family community where everyone feels at home, and all are welcome.
Help students to set personal goals and focus, be disciplined, determined and strong both physically and mentally.
To improve fitness, posture and free movement. Provide an opportunity to express oneself and dance without pressure or stress to perform.
A place to be yourself and allow your passion and personality to shine through the art of Dance!

Carly’s passion for dancing began as a shy 4-year-old and she has now been dancing for over 32 years.
Born and growing up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney into a passionate dancing family, dance has always been a big part of her life.
She has many dancing achievements with career highlights that include a 3rd place at the Australian Physie and Dance Association (APDA) national level in 2013 where she was also invited to dance at the National Championship Finals at the Sydney Opera House and a 6th place in 2014 at the national level held in Sydney.

Carly has also worked in early childhood for over 18 years, working in many education settings and most recently as an educator at the Indooroopilly Montessori Children's House.
In early 2016, Carly decided to realise a lifelong dream and open Indooroopilly Dance Co. Having always had a passion for fitness, children, movement and of course dance, Carly is beyond excited to be able to combine her experience, skills, and passion and continue teaching others the art of dance at Indooroopilly Dance Co.

Emma Hutchison
Emma's passion for physie started at just three years old, and forever has been her striving sport.
The friendships she has made through the years are something that she cherishes and enjoys watching others form these in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Emma has competed competitively since the age of 5, with multiple national finals and nationally placed three times.
She grew up in Shellharbour NSW until 2019, when she moved to QLD in 2020 to begin her tertiary studies, Bachelor of Primary Education at the University of Southern Queensland.
She has continued her love for this sport at Harbourside Physie at Dance.
She found her passion for teaching at 15 when she became a Junior Assistant Teacher at Shellharbour City Physie and Dance for three years which she enjoyed helping create the fun in class, inspire the youngest students and share her passion with them.
Her love for APDA is that it is fun and challenging, with the various styles of dance that are incorporated in the syllabus.
Emma can't wait to share her passion with the students and watch them grow.

Sandy Moss
Sandy is new to the teaching team in 2023 and is passionate about physie. Originally from Adelaide, Sandy’s childhood was in Calisthenics and Gymnastics, achieving level 8 and state level teams.
Sandy has been actively involved in physie for the past 13 years, having 2 daughters dance since they were 5. Through this experience, she has seen the importance of dance and the impact on coordination, posture, memory, and becoming the best versions of themselves.
Sandy returned to dance 10 years ago and competed in both individual and team competitions. As an individual, Sandy placed in the top 3 in Queensland ladies zone for each year she competed and was a National finalist.
After a short break to concentrate on her nursing career, Sandy returned to physie with a passion to teach dance with the aim to engage, encourage, and grow confidence in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Sandy looks forward to joining the IDC teaching team and meeting all the children and families.
