A year filled with love, happiness and fun!
My year 12 English teacher, Mr Owen said to our class one day “Girls, life will pass like a blink of an eye so take every moment and opportunity that comes your way and live life to the fullest”. I remember sitting in that class and watching my classmates rolling their eyes as if to say “yeah right Mr Owen”. The funny thing was, Mr Owen was 100% correct and little did I know at the time that I would be giving exactly the same advise he had given us to my own students.
Life after school did pass like a blink of an eye and without even realising I have taken that advice over the years and embraced every opportunity that has come my way, working hard to reach my goals and most importantly living my passions.
It has been a whole year since I opened up Indooroopilly Dance Co. and what an amazing ride it has been! Even though I didn’t know what to expect or where it was going to go I knew that I wanted to share my passion and experience with as many children and adults as I possibly could and to make sure I passed on the message to never give up on your dreams. What better way to do this than to be a real life example of this philosophy.
At the end of 2016 I decided that after over 11 years in early childhood it was time to put my full heart, body and soul into Indooroopilly Dance Co. This has been the most rewarding job I have ever had, scary at times but I strongly believe we only regret the chances we didn’t take. The families and parents that have walked through our doors over the past 12 months have been nothing short of amazing, supportive and most importantly never gave up on me. They believed in me, just like I believed in all of their children. That to me is something pretty special.
The atmosphere I have created here at Indooroopilly Dance Co. is a warm, nurturing, and positive environment for students to come and feel “at home”. We are a small close-knit family community and I believe everybody should be given the opportunity to dance no matter their gender, experience, or age.
I look forward to welcoming new families into our little community. Encouraging and inspiring children and adults to come along and gain something special from their experience because at the end of the day, you have to do what makes you happy, enjoy every moment and Never Give Up on your Dreams!
Bring on many more years to come at Indooroopilly Dance Co. !
